Review

KeePass or KeePass Password Safe is a password manager for Windows. The application also supports several other platforms, including some mobile devices. KeePass will save all your passwords so that you don't have to memorize them all. And, on top of that, it will give you a couple of nice features to make sure that your passwords are always safe and hard to crack. I love that you can install this really easily. You can even download an .exe file and double click it, and you are ready to go. There is also a portable version, so that you can take your passwords everywhere. When you first start the application, it will ask for a password for your password data base. The better your password, the better encryption the application is going to give you. Later on, you can add the passwords that you already have and tell KeePass what website or applications they belong to. KeepPass is an open-source project, so it is always being updated and improved. The feature I like the most is the automatic password generation, which allows you to add a new account with a new password. Those passwords are really secure, so you can rest assured they won't be cracked. The latest version of KeePass is 1.14. However, this review deals with version 1.0.
Advantages
  • Great encryption.
  • Open-source.
  • Works great.
Disadvantages
  • Syncing would be great.
